Ken Ogiyama

Asian Talent Casting Specialist

Living in a foreign county had been a dream for Ken Ogiyama since he was a little boy. He moved to Auckland in 2002 and happened upon an advertisement for an extra’s part in the Hollywood movie, “Last Samurai”.

Fortunately or not, he landed a role as an interpreter and Production Assistant, even though he really wanted to appear on screen. During the four-month shoot in Taranaki he was captivated by the film industry. Since then he has worked for several TV production companies in varying roles such as casting coordinator, interpreter for on-set crew, and talent coordinator. Working in the film industry has given him so many opportunities to meet interesting and creative people and has allowed him to visit places he wouldn’t have otherwise been to.
