A very special agent for the New Zealand and Japanese film industry

About TŪTŪ

TŪTŪ Company was started by Migiwa Ozawa in 2013.

Migiwa was born and grew up in Kamakura, Kanagawa, Japan. Migiwa means "shore line" in Japanese, and maybe that is why she is always attracted by water, particularly scuba diving! She found New Zealand also, surrounded by water, and made it a new home. Luckily she found out that NZ is also a paradise for creative talent, especially filmmakers, and made it her mission to be a creative liaison between her two homes.

After a few years as a freelance film translator/coordinator, her first credited work was for Ngila Dickson on the Warner Brothers feature film "Last Samurai" which was shot in Taranaki, NZ.   She worked on this project for 1  1/2 year in total  from pre-production , shooting to wrapping. This whole experience gave her great insight and inspiration for the world of film making.

Then she worked at  Silver Screen Productions for 2 1/2 years, being the first Japanese employed full time by a NZ owned TVC Production Company. She then moved to Film Construction and completed  7 1/2 years as a full-time in-house Line Producer delivering many Japanese TVC shot in NZ.

After working hard, now she wants to TŪTŪ around. She started TŪTŪ Company to continue her passion for connecting the film industries of these two cultures.
